Well-crafted advertising sections offer an interesting read that brings additional value to magazine readers. From a client perspective, ad sections provide a ‘voice’ for a company or product that often cannot be raised through editorial coverage. Done well, they tell a story from a company’s perspective that’s much more than self-promotion. They are informative, even compelling…just like a magazine’s editorial content.
Advertising sections range from two- to eight-page presentations sponsored by a single company or industry to extensive sections of 36 or more pages with dozens of advertisers.
Green Car Journal has produced and authored many special ad sections, for its own issues and for other magazines like Business Week, Fortune, and Motor Trend.
Our advertising section clients have found the process straightforward and surprisingly smooth from start to finish. That’s because we’ve been doing these sections for nearly two decades and understand the automotive field thoroughly. We offer a knowledgeable, fresh perspective that benefits from our considerable experience in the editorial realm and our keen grasp of the intersection of automobiles, energy, and the environment.
We do all the heavy lifting, from researching a company’s products or services and conceptualizing the section, to reviewing existing photography and creating an initial section layout for approval. Early on, we present what we have in mind and listen to our clients’ thoughts to ensure we include all the elements important to telling their story. Our wordsmiths then author the section and provide the text in a Word file accompanied by a section PDF for review and final corrections.
Finished sections are delivered as web- and press-optimized PDF files. Those slated for publication in Green Car Journal go to press and several hundred copies of the magazine are provided for promotional use. Reprints can also be arranged and shipped to events or to our clients’ door. It’s a turnkey process, start to finish.
